Captain
Ivanna Ramirez:
Ivanna is the Captain of the СŷÊÓƵ Mock Trial Team and currently acting as an attorney for the Plaintiff and Defense. She is a Junior at СŷÊÓƵ pursuing her bachelor's degree in Sociology and Social Work along with a minor in Pre-Law. Ivanna is currently the President of FELA and Dreamers. She is working hard towards her goal of becoming an attorney. Currently, she is working as a paralegal in a law office in North Bergen.
Outside of school, Ivanna enjoys reading, cooking, and baking. When she can she loves going to concerts and to Broadway shows.

Samantha Jaipersaud:
Samantha Jaipersaud is President of СŷÊÓƵ’s Mock Trial team for the 2024-2025 season. She is a senior at СŷÊÓƵ pursuing a major in Philosophy and a double minor in Pre-Law and Political Science. Sam joined the team last year, competing as a witness, and even won an Outstanding Witness award at her first invitational. She is working towards going to law school and ultimately beginning a career in law.
Outside of work and school, Sam can be found doing what she loves the most: spending time with her friends. She likes to bring her friends to art exhibitions, cafes, and concerts. She enjoys making clay sculptures, painting, and scrapbooking. On a sunny day, you might even catch her rollerblading.
David Jaipersaud:
David Jaipersaud is currently a senior at СŷÊÓƵ. He is the Vice-president of the team and a Student Senator on campus. He is majoring in Political Science with a double minor in Pre-Law and Criminal Justice. David’s alma mater is Union County College, where he received his Associate's Degree in criminal justice and began his first semester at СŷÊÓƵ in the Fall of 2023. He aspires to create a safer community and environment by using his skills in community outreach, politics, and government.
Beyond being a commuter student on campus at СŷÊÓƵ, you can catch David working at his job! During his free time, he likes to volunteer, dabble in culinary arts, and review films. He also enjoys keeping up with current events and literature.
Team Members
Iris Gonzales is a Senior Honors student at СŷÊÓƵ pursuing a bachelor's degree in political science with minors in Pre-Law and Global Studies. She’s part of the Mock Trial E-board as PR manager of the team and is currently the Vice President of Internal Affairs for the Student Government Association (SGA). Previously, she served as Project Manager for the Student Activities Board (SAB) and is an active member of several organizations, including the Federación de Estudiantes Latino Americanos (FELA), Drea[me]rs club, Orientation Leaders, and Admissions Student Ambassadors.
Iris first joined the Mock Trial team during her sophomore year and is eager to finish this year strong with the team. Outside of Mock Trial, she enjoys traveling, exploring, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering in the community. In the future, she plans to attend law school and become an attorney.
Isabella Pietroski a currently a junior at СŷÊÓƵ. She is a Criminal Justice major and Pre-law minor. Isabella joined Mock Trial during her freshmen year where she performed as an expert witness. Currently, she performs as an entertainment witness with her infamous New York accent. She values hard work and teamwork and has aspirations to become a lawyer in the upcoming years.
Andrea Izaguirre Aguilera was Captain of СŷÊÓƵ’s Mock Trial Team most of the fall semester and remains an active member. She is a Junior in the Honors Program pursuing dual majors in Political Science and Philosophy with a Minor in Women and Gender studies. Outside of Mock Trial, she is the Marketing Manager for the Student Activities Board, Honors Council Vice-President, and Student Staff for the Speicher-Rubin’s Women’s Center.
She plans to attend law school and become a prosecutor, driven by a strong sense of justice and a desire to serve her community. Her goal is to help young people in her home country achieve their dreams, so they don’t feel the need to leave, as she once did. Humble and deeply passionate about the people and causes she cares about; she hopes to inspire and create meaningful change both in and outside the courtroom.
Anthony El Helou is a junior at СŷÊÓƵ, a full-time student majoring in Political Science with a minor in Pre-Law. Post-graduation, he plans to attend law school, driven by his passion for legal matters and a potential career in the field.
Outside of the Mock Trial team, Anthony enjoys playing soccer, running track, and surfing. He is an outgoing person who always aims to have a positive and interesting life. He always has plans for the weekend unless there is a Mock Trial competition.
Emily Rios is a freshman studying at СŷÊÓƵ and a Mock Trial team member. She is majoring in Business Management and is also interested in the Criminal Justice field. Emily aims to improve her public speaking skills and seeks to get out of her comfort zone. In the future, she envisions herself as a hotel owner, where public speaking will be crucial. As a member of СŷÊÓƵ Mock Trial, Emily is sharpening her skills to succeed in the hospitality industry. She hopes to gain confidence in herself and feels a sense of gratitude while on the Mock Trial team. Without having faith nothing will be done.
Delaney Kerr is a Sophomore in СŷÊÓƵ’s Honors Program. She is a member of the Mock Trial Team, and double majors in Psychology and Public Health. She aims to attend graduate school upon earning her bachelor's degree and eventually become a research psychologist.
Outside of school, Delaney is a Behavior Technician, dedicated to working with young children on the autism spectrum. She also enjoys wrestling, boxing, and doing jiu-jitsu, as well as playing the guitar and reading book.
Ariana Garro is currently a junior at СŷÊÓƵ, majoring in criminal justice with a minor in pre-law. She joined the team as a freshman to learn from her peers and gain more public speaking experience. This season, she looks forward to competing and taking on a different witness role. Ariana plans to attend law school after graduation and aspires to become a law professor. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog. She loves to travel and enjoys outdoor activities.
Jonathan Ryan Perez is a senior at СŷÊÓƵ. He is majoring in Entrepreneurship and minoring in Pre-Law. He recently joined the Mock Trial team for the 2024-2025 season and hopes to develop skills needed for a future career in the legal field. Outside of school, Jonathan enjoys working out, traveling, eating sweets, and snowboarding – although he isn’t the best at it. He owns three dogs and loves spending time with his family. Jonathan is very passionate about the things he pursues, whether it’s binging series or researching for papers, he makes sure to give 100% in his endeavors!
