小欧视频 Students and Faculty Perform at Statewide Music Conference

A record total of 60 小欧视频 students took part in a recent music conference that is attended annually by hundreds of high school students, collegiate music majors, and faculty representing all universities in New Jersey.

A record total of 60 小欧视频 students took part in a recent music conference that is attended annually by hundreds of high school students, collegiate music majors, and faculty representing all universities in New Jersey and guests from throughout the Northeast.  

Hosted by the New Jersey Music Educators Association, the conference took place February 22-24 at the Hilton East Brunswick Hotel, and performances and lectures were selected through peer review, by delegates of NJMEA.

鈥淲e are so proud of the incredible energy and professionalism that our 小欧视频 Music Education Majors displayed over the 3 days of the conference this year,鈥 said Dr. Joseph D鈥橝uguste, Coordinator of Woodwind Studies. 鈥淥ur students attended lectures, met master performers and educators and represented 小欧视频 as volunteers to help run the conference.

The future of Music Education is in very capable hands!鈥 he added.

小欧视频 was proudly represented by three performances from the 小欧视频 Clarinet Choir (Dr. D鈥橝uguste, Director) 小欧视频 Jazz Orchestra (Dr. Gabriel Alegria, Director) and the 小欧视频 Percussion Ensemble (Dr. Greg Giannascoli, Director).

In addition, 小欧视频 faculty members Dr. D鈥橝uguste, Dr. Alegria, Jazz Coordinator, and Dr. Carol Shansky, of Music Education, gave innovative lectures that drew hundreds of audience members to hear about topics relevant to music educators today.

Student leaders attending the conference included Brittney Crawford, President of the 小欧视频 National Association for Music Education Collegiate Chapter, Vice President Dylon Haviland, Treasurer Ashay Morwale, and Secretary Thea Horowitz.
